Tuesday, August 27, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m Discover McGill is a fun, energetic, campus-wide welcome day to kick-off Orientation Week and your McGill career! It begins with a welcome address from the Principal and performances from our school’s most talented clubs. This is followed by an interactive Services Fair and lunch served in one of Montreal’s scenic parks.

 The afternoon concludes with the ever-important Faculty Orientation, where you will learn all you need to know to successfully navigate your way through your first-year academics at McGill! Your attendance is crucial as this is McGill’s ONLY University-wide orientation event, and lots of important information will be conveyed on this day – take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn more about how McGill can help you succeed!

DISCOVER McGILL: Academic Expectations Day

Wednesday, August 28, 2019 – Do you have concerns about your study skills or what a university workload will entail? Perhaps you will be studying in English for the first time. If so, register for the workshops offered on Discover McGill’s Academic Expectations day to get a head start on your university career!



Monday, August 26 – 3:30 – 6:30 @  Jeanne Mance Park! 

Open to: All new undergraduate students starting in Fall (September) 2019 who are living in an official McGill Residence.

About: Welcome Fest is an exciting celebration of the McGill Residence spirit, hosted by the RLO (Residence Life Office) at beautiful Jeanne Mance Park. As a kickoff to your year in residence, students from all the buildings will gather to demonstrate their hall spirit by competing in a residence cheer off! Music, refreshments, and plenty of activities designed to help students meet and compete will follow. Wear your Welcome Fest T-Shirt, bring a water bottle, and have fun!

FROSH 2019

Frosh is a multi-day event, coordinated by either a club, group, or Faculty student association and is primarily comprised of social activities, and is part of the larger Orientation Week.

Monday, August 26, 2019 – Off-Campus Connects welcomes all off-campus first-year students for an introduction to Montreal, McGill, and the week ahead! Come and join us for a day of fun, informative activities like our Amazing Race and FREE food. This is your chance to and meet other McGill students who will be living off-campus and ask your group leaders questions about McGill and off-campus life!

Transfer Student Orientation and Info Session

Thursday, August 29, 2019 – This information session, specifically planned for transfer students, is intended to help you have a strong start to your McGill career by informing you of the various resource services available on campus.

First Generation Welcome Reception and Orientation

August 28 – 4pm – 6 pm — McGill would like to welcome students identifying as first-generation* students at a reception on August 28 from 4 pm to 6 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other incoming first-generation students, upper-year first-generation students, and staff. Students will also learn about resources and support available to them. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please email
